Everybody, in my opinion, wants to feel they have the option — economically — to make the kitchen a custom experience for them. But they also want to KNOW that their choices are good.
They want to drive, but they want a tour guide to point out options to them they never thought of. They want someone who understands kitchens on a deeper, more fundamental level, that can say things to them about kitchens that they immediately recognize as true but that they never would have arrived at by themselves.
They need to feel, when the kitchen is done, that it achieves what they wanted and they need to be able to know WHY it does. Because if they don’t, they will, down the road a few weeks or months, begin to sour on it, and doubt their decisions.
